The CalColor Atelier Painting program teaches historically-proven techniques inspired from the 19th century French Academies.
This program is meant to teach students on how to transfer their knowledge of drawing into painting. Introduction to studying the
Old Masters will be explored, and students will create paintings that they study from 16th-21th century painters.
Throughout the program, students will gain knowledge on color theory, edge control, and different painting techniques.
The techniques include, Alla Prima (Wet on Wet), Open/Closed Grisaille, Indirect Painting, and many more.
Students advancing to this program has completed the pre-requisite CalColor Atelier Drawing program.
Upon atelier completion after this program, students achieve maturity and professionalism within their work.
